The book follows on from Brand Content, published in 2009, and extends the reflection from content to culture. If brand content showed how brands could become media and produce their own editorial material, brand culture goes one step further: it considers the brand as a complete cultural system.
A brand is no longer simply a name, a logo, a promise or an advertising territory. It is made up of signs, stories, gestures, places, objects, interfaces, rituals, know-how and experiences. It does not only communicate; it builds a world of meaning.
